Project Overview

JP 2088 Phase 1 is responsible for developing and equipping the Australian Defence Force’s (ADF) second permanent Tactical Assault Group capability on Australia’s eastern seaboard.

Associated Projects

Associated with JP 2088 are projects LAND 132 (Raising the Full Time Commando Capability) and JP 199 (Establishment of Special Operations Command). Together these projects have been established to consolidate, coordinate and manage the delivery of a number of Special Forces capabilities.

Current Status

This project was approved in June 2002, with anticipated closure in mid 2011.
Equipment is being delivered progressively over the period 2003 – 2010.
