From fighter planes and satellites to tents and rations, the Defence Materiel Organisation (DMO) is Australia’s largest project management organisation and its mission is to acquire and sustain equipment for the Australian Defence Force (ADF).

The DMO is involved in many of the largest and most demanding projects in Australia. The ADF relies on us to provide its equipment on time, on budget and to the required levels of quality and safety, the ADF’s operational success depends on us.

On 26 January, the F-35 Joint Program Office temporarily suspended high speed ground and flight operations at Edwards AFB, Calif., Eglin AFB, Fla. and Lockheed Martin's F-35 production facility in Fort Worth, Texas after discovering improperly packed parachutes in affected production and test aircraft. One application - endless opportunity DMO HR is making it easier to apply for jobs in our organisation through a rolling recruitment initiative. DMO jobs are advertising roles, at various levels, within job families, to build up talent pools of applicants with specific skills. The DMO 2010-11 Major Projects Report (MPR) was tabled in Parliament on 20 December 2011. This report includes a total of 28 of Defence's largest acquisition projects (by total budget), including the 22 from the 2009-10 MPR, and provides an insight into their status in terms of cost, schedule, capability, risks, issues and emerging trends.
The DMO has also released a companion Brochure to the 2010-11 Major Projects Report, which provides an updated status to 31 October 2011.
