Defence Procurement Policy Manual 1 October 2009 Edition

Procurement and Contacting Branch has released Defence Procurement Policy Manual (DPPM) 1 October 2009. DPPM 1 October 2009 is effective from 01 October 2009.

The DPPM is the principal reference document for Defence officials conducting procurement. It provides procurement officers, and others involved in the procurement process, with the policy and operational guidance necessary to comply with Commonwealth policy.

DPPM 1 October 2009 consists of the following revised and updated chapters and annexes:

The following chapters and annexes have been deleted:

  • Chapter 1.5 – Procurement Training;
  • Chapter 4.11 – Agency Relationships;
  • Annex 1B - Examples of Proposal, Procurement, and Contract Approver Submissions;
  • Annex 3C - Minimum Requirements for all Defence Acquisitions valued at $5Million and above;
  • Annex 3D - Employer Sponsored Superannuation Cover (Questionnaire);
  • Annex 3E - Interim Guidance on Determining Superannuation Liability;
  • Annex 4C - Employer/Employee Relationship; and
  • Annex 5D – Standard Letters.

The information previously provided in chapter 4.11 has been included in chapter 4.10. All other parts of the DPPM remain unchanged from what was previously issued as DPPM 1 July 2009.

Hard copies of the DPPM are not available. Users of the DPPM are encouraged to bookmark this page and use the DPPM as an online reference.

DPPM online can be word searched for key words using the ‘binoculars’ icon located at the left of the DPPM page. Users of the DPPM are also encouraged to become familiar with the table of contents and use it as a guide to locate specific topics quickly.
