    Project AIR 5077 has been established to acquire an Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) capability. The capability will provide the Australian Defence Force (ADF) with an enhanced surveillance capability in the broad expanse of the Australian north.

    The A04 Caribou aircraft (also known as DHC-4 Caribou) currently performs both troop and cargo transport functions. The most cost-effective means of continuing to provide this light transport and tactical airlift capability for the ADF over the medium-long term is to extend the life of the ADF's Caribou aircraft for ten years.

    Air 5276 Phase 3 is an approved project to provide an Advanced Flight Simulator (AFS) that fully replicates the in-service AP-3C for training purposes.

    The Lead-In Fighter Project was established to provide a state-of-the-art fast jet training capability for the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF). The aircraft chosen for this role is the advanced two-seater Hawk 127, renamed Lead-In Fighter (LIF).
