The following policy and guidelines are used by Procurement Officers when conducting procurement activities for the Australian Defence Organisation.

Priority Industry Capabilities announcement pdf
The Defence White Paper 2009 Defending Australia in the Asia Pacific Century outlined the Government’s commitment to ensure that certain strategically important industry capabilities continue to be available from within Australia. Under this policy, the Government will identify Priority Industry Capabilities (PIC).PICs are defined as those capabilities that confer an essential strategic advantage by being resident within Australia and which, if not available, would significantly undermine defence self reliance and Australian Defence Force (ADF) operational capability.

The DMO has developed the Company ScoreCard program to monitor, assess and report on the performance of our suppliers. The 360º View ScoreCard program offers prime contractors an opportunity to assess and report on our performance as contract and project managers.

Defence and Industry Policy Statement 2007 pdf
The Government released the Defence and Industry Policy Statement on 1 March 2007. The Policy Statement outlines the Government's priorities and initiatives for ensuring a sustainable in-country defence industry able to support the ADF.

The Defence Recognised Supplier Scheme (DRSS)
The DRSS is a recognition scheme offering support to Australian defence businesses which have, or have had, a satisfactory supplier relationship with Defence.
