Can you meet the challenge?

The Australian Defence Force (ADF) relies on the DMO to provide its equipment on time, on budget and to the required levels of quality and safety – the ADF’s operational success depends on us. The DMO is looking for undergraduates who are up for this challenge.

Then the Materiel Engineering Undergraduate Scholarship might be for you.

You must be an Australian citizen to be eligible to commence the MEUS.

Selection Summary

Our recruitment process is a three stage process:

1. Application –Applications are to be submitted via the DMO website. You will need to answer a few questions about your experience, submit a resume, and provide details of two current referees. Applications open on Saturday 27 August 2011.

2. Interviews – If you are considered suitable based on your application, you will be invited to attend an interview. These will most likely be conducted in Canberra (we support you to get there if you do not live in the ACT).
Assessment
During 24-28 October 2011

3. Final Selection – If you are successful you will be offered a position on the 2012 MEUS which will commence in February 2012. A security assessment is undertaken prior to finalising your first work placement in the DMO.

Selection Criteria

The following table describes the selection criteria against which applicants will be evaluated:

Hints on how to Prepare Your Application

Before applying for the MEUS, you should:

  • Review and understand the selection criteria
  • Find out as much as you can about the DMO and its current projects
  • Gain an understanding of strategic Defence issues
  • Consider your preparedness to go through the security clearance process
  • Consider your willingness and ability to relocate if successful; and
  • Be able to commence your scholarship studies in February 2012.
