The Materiel Engineering Undergraduate Scholarship

The Materiel Engineering Undergraduate Scholarship (MEUS) is the Defence Materiel Organisation’s (DMO) program to support you (the undergraduate) through your engineering degree and prepare you for a professional career in the DMO.

On successful completion of your undergraduate studies and attainment of an accredited degree in a relevant engineering discipline, you may apply for a place on the Materiel Graduate Scheme (MGS) to commence your career in the DMO.

What the MEUS offers

MEUS offers you:

  • The opportunity to have tuition fees paid for the four years of your degree
  • Financial support for textbooks
  • Six to eight weeks of professionally recognised paid work experience in the DMO each year
  • A dedicated support team; and
  • On successful completion, an enhanced opportunity to apply for a position on the Materiel Graduate Scheme and work in a dynamic project delivery organisation

Who is eligible for the Materiel Engineering Undergraduate Scholarship?

To be eligible for the MEUS you must:

  • Be an Australian citizen
  • Be enrolling for the first time in an undergraduate program; and
  • Be enrolling in a Bachelor of Engineering; and have achieved an ATAR of 85 or above

Engineering disciplines eligible for scholarships are reviewed each year.

Disciplines for the 2012 MEUS are as follows

  • Electrical engineering; and
  • Mechanical engineering

How many scholarships are available?

There are up to 16 scholarships available for 2012. Selection is based on academic merit; relevant interests and career aspirations on graduation and in the long term for your chosen discipline/degree; and performance at an interview. Tenure is dependant on satisfactory progress.

Applications for the 2012 MEUS scholarships have now closed. Prospective applicants should consider applying for the MEUS 2013 intake which will be advertised in August next year.
