Role

Katrina is involved in the reorganisation of staff policies and positions within the Amphibious Deployment and Sustainment (ADAS) program, in addition to the development of strategic focused HR directives. The position requires strategic knowledge to anticipate future demand for positions within the ADAS program, in conjunction with administrative work to ensure the efficient coordination of day to day activities within the project.

Career profile

Katrina started her career within DMO as a graduate within the Corporate Headquarters of Land Systems Division (LSD), who are responsible for overseeing the majority of strategic financial directives Land Systems receive, in addition to budgeting. She worked with key financial team members to examine an alternative accounting system, which is now in place within LSD, in addition to investigative research pertaining to the real cost increases within the Australian economy over time.

Her second rotation was based in Industry Division, providing a range of strategic initiatives that concern DMO as a whole. Katrina assisted in the identification of Priority Local Industry’s with which Defence interacts and strategies to help ensure such industries remain on Australian soil. The rotation also involved a period of time working with the Joint Training Task Force, which is responsible for developing and overseeing initiatives to allow industry partners and Defence to work collaboratively to ensure a viable industry skill set exists to carry out Defence related work.

Qualifications

Katrina has a Bachelor of Business degree (Economics/Management) with Honours in Management from La Trobe University, Melbourne.
