HOW DOES DMO HELP?

We understand that the transition from study to career can be a difficult transition to undertake. In designing the MGS we aim to ease this transition by developing a series of support networks to help develop you into a professional member of our workforce.

As a graduate, you have access to all the support available to DMO staff. You will also be assigned a senior manager as a mentor and a buddy from the previous year's MGS intake to help you.

WHERE WILL YOU BE LOCATED?

DMO is located around the country. You may undertake rotations in Canberra, Melbourne or Sydney. However some graduates may be assigned to regional locations like Williamtown (near Newcastle) and Nowra in NSW, Oakey in Queensland or Rockingham in Western Australia.

You may also be sent to another location for one or more of your work rotations. DMO will cover most of the costs associated with this temporary relocation.

The purpose of the work rotations is to:

  • provide you with a broad understanding of different functions across the Defence Materiel Organisation;
  • introduce you to skills required to progress your career in DMO; and
  • develop you as a key professional for DMO's future.

You will be able to allocate your preference from a range of rotation possibilities prior to allocation of each work rotation. Actual allocation is based on:
