Careers in DMO

As part of our commitment to reducing Australia's carbon foot print the Defence Materiel Organisation (DMO) has moved to an online eRecruitment System. e-Recruitment is an internet based software tool developed for use in all DMO recruitment. This will make managing the recruitment processes simpler by providing an end-to-end recruitment system. It will be used to manage all aspects of the recruitment process from initiating a vacancy, advertising, assessing applicants, through to issuing a letter of offer.

Applying for vacancies is quicker and easier through e-Recruitment. It allows you to submit online applications, attach resumes and receive job alerts notifying you when vacancies that might interest you are advertised.

e-Recruitment is currently being used for all DMO ongoing vacancies. For other types of vacancies, please check the Candidate Information Pack for instructions on how to apply. Please note that over time this system will also be used for all vacancies advertised in both DMO and Defence As such, you will only need to register once. After you have registered as a candidate, your User name and Password will be the same when applying for jobs that are advertised on this DMO jobs site and the Defence Careers jobs site.

What's New

As a result of funding decisions announced by the Government in the recent Federal Budget, Defence will undertake a systematic review of civilian staffing across all Defence Groups in 2012-13. The DMO is required to contribute to wider Defence efficiency measures and to adjust its workforce to absorb the impacts of both adjustments to individual projects and an overall growth in sustainment workload.

Pending the outcomes of this review, the DMO has suspended all talent pool related recruitment activity.  Until further notice, all positions that are approved for filling will be advertised individually in APSJobs and on the DMO Jobs website.  Interested applicants are encouraged to apply for these opportunities as they arise.

Background

Talent pools offer a streamlined recruitment process for critical skill areas including Engineering, Logistics, Project Management and Procurement and Contracting. Graduate Employment Opportunities

Undergraduate Work Experience Opportunities

The DMO Materiel Work Experience Program (for university undergraduates) will be discontinued at the completion of the current work placements in January 2012.  If DMO undergraduate work experience opportunities become available again in the future, this website will be updated accordingly.  University graduate and TAFE student employment opportunities will continue to be available through the Materiel Graduate Scheme and Materiel TAFE Employment Scheme, respectively.

Scholarship Opportunities
