Integrated Avionics System Support Facility (IASSF)
Background
The Commonwealth contracted with EASAMS (Australia) Pty Ltd in January 1992, for the procurement of the IASSF. The IASSF was introduced into service in June 2000 at a Pre HUG 13C Baseline. The IASSF was procured to provide a systems engineering laboratory to enable the RAAF to develop enhancements, perform technical investigations, and undertake concept demonstrations. This ability will ensure the RAAF can maintain the capability edge of the Hornet aircraft.
The IASSF
comprises two major components:
- An Integrated Test Facility (ITF) providing an integrated dynamic avionics stimulation environment; and
- a Software Development Facility (SDF) to compile the Operational Flight Programs (OFPs) loaded into the Mission Computer (MC).
The IASSF also includes some minor components such as:
- on-line data capture and analysis tools; and
- off-line data reduction and analysis tools.
Project Air 5376 IASSF Upgrade
The Software Development Facility has already been replaced by the Boeing Company to provide WSSU with the capability to create or modify the 13C Operational Flight Programs, and is contracted to provide the capability to support Phase 2.1 (15C).
