Crew Simulator Home | About OMS |
This website will be an information resource to provide you with the status and progress of the manufacture and integration of the new AP-3C Orion Crew Simulator for the Surveillance and Response Group of the Royal Australian Air Force.
As part of Air 5276 Ph2A, the AP-3C Operational Mission Simulator (OMS) was accepted into Service at RAAF Base Edinburgh on 4 Dec 2002. The OMS provides the capability to perform conversion and continuation training for the tactical crewmembers of the refurbished AP-3C Orion aircraft. The Prime Contractor for the design of the AP-3C OMS is L-3 Communications Integrated Systems (formally Raytheon Company) of Greenville, Texas, USA.
L-3 Comm sub-contracted to BAE SYSTEMS in Adelaide, Australia, for the integration of aircraft mission equipment with the simulation subsystems. The design of the simulation subsystems and interfaces to the mission equipment was sub-contracted by BAE Systems to CAE Electronics located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
