LSD’s activities include management of approved major and minor capital equipment projects, overall coordination of the Army minor capital equipment program, and national fleet management for land-based fleets of military equipment. The Division is also responsible for the provision of engineering support to land materiel, and land materiel support to ADF operations, exercises and activities.

Combined Arms Fighting System

This Branch is responsible for the management of the Army's largest, most expensive and most complex major capability equipment project to date. Land 400 (Land Combat Vehicle System) will introduce a new capability to the ADF with the provision of a mounted close combat system to enable the Combined Arms Fighting System necessary for Force 2030.

Integrated Soldier Systems Branch

This Branch comprises three integrated systems program offices, responsible for armaments, ADF clothing and soldier modernisation, as well as a directorate responsible for integrated soldier systems development (which incorporates Diggerworks) and the MyDefenceGear Project.

Land Manoeuvre Systems Branch

This Branch is divided into three integrated systems program offices, responsible for the acquisition, sustainment and disposal of land manoeuvre systems including tracked and wheeled armoured vehicles, combat support vehicles (such as Bushmasters) and combat support systems (such as artillery, radar and short range air defence weapon systems).
