Aerospace Systems Division manages the acquisition and through life support of aerospace systems for the Australian Defence Force. The division is responsive, as appropriate, to the Service Chiefs and Vice Chief of the Defence Force for delivery of acquisition outcomes. Aerospace Combat Systems Branch Aerospace Combat Systems Branch is responsible for the overall management of the acquisition and sustainment of the F/A-18F Super Hornet, F/A-18 A/B Classic Hornet as well as the Hawk Lead-In-Fighter. Aerospace Combat Systems Branch is also responsible for projects AIR 5376 Hornet Upgrade, AIR 5438 Lead In Fighter Capability and JP 66 Replacement for Air Defence Targets as well as the F-111 disposal program. Aerospace Materiel Management Branch Aerospace Materiel Management (AMM) Branch plans, coordinates and manages awide range of ASD corporate functions, including
AMM Branch is also responsible for the delivery of three product schedules to Air Force (Ground Support Equipment - CAF 24, Aircraft Common Spares - CAF 25 and Test and Measurement Equipment - CAF 26). These product schedules are managed through the Aerospace Materiel Systems Program Office (AMSPO), located at RAAF Williams (Laverton). The branch also has carriage of the Aviation Technical Training (ATT) Project. Airlift and Training Systems Branch This branch is responsible for the Air Lift and Training Aircraft Systems Program Offices, which support the sustainment of C-17, KC-30A, C130H, C130J, PC 9 and B300 platforms. The Branch also manages the acquisition of the Air-to-Air Refuelling capability that is provided by project AIR5402, Heavy Airlift Capability under project AIR8000 Ph3 and Ph4, and the Pilot Training System under project AIR5428. The Branch also has carriage of future airlift capability projects under AIR5440 and AIR8000 Ph 2, and Air Combat Officer Training System under AIR5232. Aerospace Maritime and Surveillance Branch Aerospace Maritime and Surveillance Branch (AMS) is responsible for the sustainment of the Airborne Early Warning and Control Aircraft (Wedgetail), the Maritime Patrol Aircraft (AP-3C), the Heron UAV, Air Life Support Systems, the Special Purpose Fleet and a wide range of Aerospace Simulation Devices and Services. These are managed by AEWCSPO, MPSPO and DASSPA. AMS also runs the AIR7000 PH2B project to replace the current maritime patrol capability, JP129 which is acquiring a tactical UAV in the Shadow 200, rapid acquisition of other ISR assets as required, and a range of projects to upgrade the AP-3C through the AIR 5276 program. |
