_The Defence Capability Plan 2009 is officially launched

The Defence Capability Plan 2009: Public Version was officially launched 1 July 2009 at the D+I 09 conference in Adelaide.The Public DCP 2009 contains over $60 billion of projects demonstrating the Government’s commitment to funding and building Force 2030 outlined in the 2009 Defence White Paper. It contains substantial opportunities for Australian industry.
In total this DCP contains details of 110 projects that are currently planned for Government consideration (either first or second pass approval) in the period 2009-13.
It builds on the Government’s commitment to keep industry abreast of Defence’s acquisition planning and helps industry effectively perform its role as a crucial component of our national Defence capability.

Priority Industry Capabilities announced pdf

The Defence White Paper 2009 Defending Australia in the Asia Pacific Century outlined the Government’s commitment to ensure that certain strategically important industry capabilities continue to be available from within Australia. Under this policy, the Government will identify Priority Industry Capabilities (PIC).PICs are defined as those capabilities that confer an essential strategic advantage by being resident within Australia and which, if not available, would significantly undermine defence self reliance and Australian Defence Force (ADF) operational capability.
