ADFELPS Rater Training

Accreditation as an ADFELPS rater is a prerequisite for instructors to be able to carry out rating of students' language proficiency using the ADFELPS test materials. This accreditation can normally be obtained in two ways:

  1. Through attendance at an ADFELPS Rater Training Course at DITC. The two week training course is offered either in late July or, in alternate years, in September as a part of the English Teaching Development Course (ETDC).
  2. Through special rater training courses conducted in DCP countries.

On completion of rater training, successful trainees will be issued with a Certificate of Accreditation as an ADFELPS Rater. Accreditation may be awarded for up to two years.

To maintain a valid ADFELPS Rater status, raters are required to rate a minimum of ten tests per year to maintain their accreditation. Completed ADFELPS test administration papers must be forwarded to the Australian Language Adviser (ALA) posted to your country or, to the Officer-in-Charge, Development Flight, DITC.

To retain a valid accreditation all raters must complete a Rater Moderation Package in the last year of their accreditation. This package is held by the ALA, or at DITC.
