Remembrance Day 2011

At the eleventh hour, of the eleventh day of the eleventh month of 2011, the staff and students of Defence Intenational Training Centre gathered to honour the fallen from all wars, past and present- in a ceremony known as Remembrance Day. The ceremony was led by CO DITC, WGCDR Sean Unwin who gave an address to the gathering, remembering all those who have died or suffered in armed conflict.

CO DITC, WGCDR Sean Unwin lays a commemorative wreath of red poppies , a flower of remembrance.

CO DITC, WGCDR Sean Unwin salutes the fallen and leads the gathering in observing one minute’s silence, as a time for reflection on sacrifices made.

Senior officers from Defence Co-operation countries - Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, China and the UAE - pay their respects and observe a minutes silence.

The wreath placed on the permanent memorial to the war dead in the grounds of DITC, contains the commemorative words, “Lest me forget”, a final tribute that concludes remembrance ceremonies.
