Our core business is to analyse foreign developments and produce intelligence assessments for the Australian Government and Defence. DIO’s main business areas are:
General Intelligence
Our Intelligence Analysts help Defence stay on top of threats by following foreign military, political, social and cultural developments that affect another country's ability to wage war or to threaten regional or international stability.
Scientific and Technical Intelligence
Our Scientific Intelligence Analysts and Technical Intelligence Analysts use their unique knowledge to report on weapons systems and technologies that may pose threats to Australian forces.
Business and Corporate Services
Regardless of what area our Business and Corporate Services team work in, they all contribute to the important work produced by DIO.
