GRADUATES

DIO offers amazing opportunities for graduates to work at the forefront of Australia's defence and national security effort.

The organisation targets high calibre, diligent and motivated individuals to partake in work placements as part of the Department of Defence Graduate Development Program (GDP).

DIO is the largest single supporter of the GDP and utilises this program to source graduates from tertiary institutions across Australia and from a variety of academic disciplines.

Participants on the GDP undertake a ten-month program that is carefully managed to introduce them to the Department. This is achieved by combining three varied work rotations from across the Department with training designed to give graduates a strong base on which to build their careers in the Public Service.

To be considered for a work placement within DIO, graduates must undertake a rigorous selection process that includes psychological testing and high level security vetting.

Graduate rotations within DIO are highly sought after and competition for permanent placements at the completion of the program is fierce. Graduates enjoy intensive analytical and intelligence-specific training during their rotations.
