Outgoing sailors from Transit Security Element (TSE) rotation 64 have ‘passed the ball’ to their successors in TSE rotation 65 at the TSE Headquarters at Larrakeyah Barracks in Darwin.

The Transit Security Element assists in the safe apprehension of potential irregular immigrants, as well as providing security at sea and looking after the welfare of potential irregular immigrants during their transfer to shore.

Transit Security Element personnel are embarked in Armidale Class Patrol Boats and Customs and Border Protection Vessels assigned to Australia's whole of government border protection effort, Operation RESOLUTE.
