Special Forces soldier wounded

An Australian Special Forces soldier was slightly wounded in Afghanistan on 26 July.
The solder, who cannot be named for operational reasons, received immediate first aid before being moved back to his base for further medical treatment.
Commander of Australian operations in the Middle East, Major General John Cantwell says the soldier is now back on duty after a brief period of rest.
"The soldier is in good spirits and has now returned to duty," he said.
The wounded soldier has contacted his family.
This casualty brings the number of Australians wounded this year to 45. To date, 145 Australians have been wounded since Operation Slipper began.
The latest incident follows a harrowing two months for Australian troops in Afghanistan with Sappers Jacob Moerland and Darren Smith killed in an Improvised Explosive Device blast; Privates Tim Aplin, Ben Chuck, and Scott Palmer lost their lives a helicopter crash while another seven Special Forces soldiers were wounded while most recently, Private Nathan Bewes lost his life following an IED blast.
