Credit to our people

Each year the National Australia Day Council invites Defence to participate in celebrating Australia Day by awarding Australia Day medallions to employees to acknowledge their achievements.

This year I am pleased to report that five CSIG people were awarded the Australia Day 2006 medallion in recognition of their contributions to Defence:

  • Catherine Keft, CSI-South Queensland
    For her ten years of outstanding work supporting the Exercise Wallaby series.
  • Carol Smith, CSI-Sydney Central
    For her outstanding performance as Contract Manager, Unit Security Officer and acting Building Services Manager for Defence Plaza, Sydney;
  • Jennifer Mackenzie, Defence Legal (Canberra)
    For her outstanding service over many years as the paralegal assistant to the Chief Judge Advocate and as office manager of the Office of the Judge Advocate General.
  • Chantal Marie Keane, CSI-Western Australia
    For her outstanding support to Defence and in particular her capable management of registry operations at Leeuwin Barracks; and
  • Allan Woods, CSI-South Queensland
    For his outstanding achievement in the development and management of the asbestos remediation plan for Defence facilities in south east Queensland.

My congratulations to all the recipients of Australia Day Honours. Their ongoing professionalism, commitment and dedication are a credit to their respective region and to Corporate Services and Infrastructure Group as a whole.
