ACT Volunteer of the Year Awards 2008

Nominations are now open for the NRMA Insurance ACT Volunteer of the Year Awards 2008.

These Awards are presented to individual volunteers for their outstanding contribution to the community in the ACT and wider Canberra region.

Nominations are invited of outstanding volunteers who are resident in our region.

Awards are given to recognise excellence in voluntary service and are intended to enhance public awareness and appreciation of the quality and depth of voluntary service in the community. The awards are not seeking to identify a "best volunteer" - award recipients are ambassadors for all volunteers and the worth of volunteer effort.

Nominations are sort in the following categories

Blue Skies Preschool & Kindergarten

Blue Skies is situated on RAAF Base Townsville and accepts enrolments from both Defence and Civilian families.  The Centre has close ties with Base facilities which offers exciting extensions to our program.

Blue Skies operates Monday to Friday 9.00am –2.30pm according to Education Queensland School Terms. We operate 2 pre-prep programs which caters for children who turn 4 by 30th June of their pre-prep year.

Craft & Cuppa

Come along and bring any craft item you are working on. Relax and enjoy the company of others. Or just bring a smile and watch what is happening, you might get some ideas and help from the group. Some equipment and materials available for use. Childcare available (bookings essential) $2 per child / $5 per family

TUESDAYS 1:15pm - 3:15pm $3 per session
& 7:00pm - 10:00pm $3 per session

Patchwork & Scrapbooking Social Group

Bring along your latest project or drag out one of those unfinished ones and bring them along. Chat and have coffee whilst having some uninterrupted craft time. Beginner’s welcome!

THURSDAY 9:30am - 12:30pm $3 per session

Yoga For Beginners

Yoga tones and firms the body, improves metabolic function, teaches breathing techniques and clears the mind. It will strengthen and relax your muscles, improve posture and muscle tone and help you look and feel great. Wear loose comfortable clothing.
Please phone the centre to reserve your spot.
