Collaborative venture
Under its Joint Program, the Defence Science and Technology Organisation (DSTO) provides science and technology support to various elements within Defence, including the Chief Information Officer Group (CIOG) through Scientific Adviser - Joint. The DSTO Corporate Leader - Joint is responsible to the Chief Defence Scientist for the delivery of science and technology against Joint capability management, capability development and the conduct/ support of operations.
Defence and Industry in partnership
The CIOG is intent on developing and maintaining a close and cooperative relationship with the Defence Information Communications Technology Industry. This relationship will be based on:
- a transparent articulation of Defence ICT development plans through the DII Plan;
- the expansion of skills within the Chief Information Officer Group in the areas of program, project and contract management; and
- longer term program aligned partnerships under improved performance based contracting models.
