The Chief Information Officer Group (CIOG), within the Department of Defence, is responsible for ensuring that the Department has a dependable, secure and integrated Defence Information Environment (DIE) to support Defence business and military operations.
The CIOG is one of the largest ICT networks in Australia. We conduct business of around $1.3 billion a year in support of Defence operations around the world and manage and maintain fixed and mobile ICT networks of over 6000 servers, eight satellite constellations, three primary domains, three primary data centre's, 110,000 workstations and around 3,000 applications.
The Chief Information Officer (CIO) is the Coordinating Capability Manager for the Defence ICT environment. The CIOG is currently undergoing major reform to enable it to better meet and deliver current and future business and military operational requirements.
You will be a valued team member working on leading edge ICT equipment, planning, and ICT architecture. Your work will ensure the successful operation of Defence communications networks across Australia and overseas.
