The Chief Finance Officer Group has established a Financial Management Framework that draws together a best practice financial management environment for Defence in a structured and integrated fashion.

The framework helps everyone in Defence get financial management right, first time, every time.

The framework helps Defence improve its financial management efficiency and effectiveness.

The framework includes:

• In the order of 1380 key financial controls to mitigate 574 financial risks
  
• Monthly controls self assessment and monitoring programs and annual testing programs
  
• A financial workforce certification strategy, which is currently under development
  
• Compliance reporting processes for the Secretary’s annual Certificate of Compliance
