Successful applicants will start their Defence finance career as an APS Level 5 Budgeting Officer or APS Level 6 Executive Budgeting Officer supported by experienced and knowledgeable supervisors. A structured learning and development program is provided through a Professional and Career Pathway. This Pathway outlines development requirements and the range of training that may be provided to you.

Keep your finance skills and knowledge current with Defence!

Our vibrant professional finance community holds regular seminars on financial topics to keep our finance professionals up-to-date and well informed. Defence and the Defence Materiel Organisation also hold an annual conference for finance professionals. There is no doubt about it; Defence will give you the training and experience to kick start or consolidate a finance career.

Formal financial qualifications are not essential however are desirable.

These positions provide an ideal entry level and there is opportunity to pursue CA, CPA and other equivalent professional programs. Persons considering a career change are also encouraged to apply.

The APS Level 5 Budgeting Officer and APS Level 6 Executive Budgeting Officer are available on a competitive merit selection basis. A merit list will be established, dependant on assessment of candidates. Application information may be provided to other Defence employees in the course of this and other recruitment activity. Interviews may not be conducted.
