Defence is seeking senior executives to join its Independent Assurance Review team

Independent Assurance Reviews are a process intended to improve project outcomes and ensure that Defence is able to provide high quality and reliable advice to Government regarding the health and outlook of major capital acquisition projects and sustainment products.

Independent Assurance Reviews comprise relevant line managers, senior Defence members and at least one external member. External members assist the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group Senior Leadership in the evaluation and direction of projects and help ensure Government receives comprehensive and objective advice.

To undertake this role, you will have extensive expertise in the management of large scale projects and/or equipment sustainment. You will be highly experienced in complex commercial relationships and contracts, and/or management of complex technology and systems integration. Your career will include appointments at the General Manager/CEO level. You are likely to have gained this experience in the Defence or related industry sectors such as aerospace, ship building, automotive or electronic systems. Overseas experience will be highly regarded.

Applicants should anticipate having to commit around 7 working days, over a 2 week period, per review, with around 10 reviews per annum.
