Australia-US Joint Combined Training Centre

Defence training areas in Queensland and the Northern Territory will be upgraded to establish a network of state-of-the-art facilities where Australian and United States forces can undertake joint training, Defence Minister Robert Hill has announced.

Australia and the US agreed to develop a Joint Combined Training Capability at the annual Australia-United States Ministerial consultations (AUSMIN) in Washington today.

Joint Combined Training Centre a Boost to Local Industry and Defence

The Joint Combined Training Capability initiative will provide vital training experience for the Australian Defence Force as well as providing a valuable boost to local Communities, Defence Minister Robert Hill said today.

$22.9 Million for Joint Combined Training Centre

Work will begin on upgrading Defence training areas in Queensland and the Northern Territory to develop state-of-the-art training facilities for Australian and United States forces as part of the Joint Combined Training Capability (JCTC) project.

Defence Minister Robert Hill said the Budget includes funding of $22.9 million over three years to begin upgrade work on facilities at the Shoalwater Bay Training Area in Queensland and the Bradshaw Training Area and Delamere Air Weapons Range in the Northern Territory... more. Open in new window
