Payment Advice GORPS Pay Grades Explained

The new GORPS pay rates will have a different definition on your Payment Advice from previous pay rates.

For example, CPL Pay Grade 5 Increment 2, CPL 05/02, will now be CPL 9E/02.
Here, the 9 represents the Other Ranks Pay Groups, E represents Pay Grade 5, A to J being Pay Grades 1 to 10.

Please see the following document for further definitions.

ADF Pay Group Definitions

Warrant Officers

The WO1 structure will be aligned from 8 pay grades to 10 to bring it into alignment with the new OR pay structure. This will facilitate a more logical progression for members promoted from WO2 to WO1. The new structure also rationalises the increments for all Warrant Officer levels.

Non reduction provisions

Due to the structural changes in GORPS, some skill grades in certain employment categories and at certain ranks have had the values of that pay point reduced. Non reduction provisions will apply to ensure that no presently serving member suffers any detriment to salary.

Trainees

GORPS see the introduction of a trainee allowance of $8000 pa for permanent members effective from 8 Jan 2009 to reflect the special demands and conditions of service life experienced by trainees. A trainee allowance for reserve trainees, based on the Reserve Allowance is also being sought.
