Multimedia Technician

Multimedia Technicians usually function individually or as part of a small team to provide units with the support required to produce multimedia products including briefings, presentations, web pages, PsyOps products and posters in addition to artwork for publications, video production and still photography.



Duties

  • Operate a computer
  • Design and layout multimedia products
  • Operate photographic equipment
  • Employ images for multimedia
  • Produce multimedia presentations
  • Produce interactive media
  • Plan and manage multimedia task
  • Produce PsyOps materials for distribution

Employment Training

You will undertake the first module of the Combat Engineer IET course (three weeks) at the School of Military Engineering (SME), Moorebank, Sydney.

This will be followed by the Multimedia Technician course of six months, also conducted at SME.


Employment Location

The Multimedia Technician may be posted to Training Command units or Land Command units located in the following areas:

  • QLD - Brisbane, Oakey;
  • VIC - Albury/Wodonga, Puckapunyal;
  • NSW - Sydney, Randwick, Holsworthy, Moorebank, Williamtown, Richmond, Singleton; and
  • WA - Perth.

Pay

Initial Pay Group on completion of the IET course is Pay Group 4.

On successful completion of the Multimedia Technician Subject Four CPL course, salary will increase to Pay Group 5.


Civil Accreditation

Civil recognition for this employment includes:

  • Certificate II in Multimedia;
  • Certificate III in Multimedia;
  • Certificate IV in Multimedia;
  • Statement of Attainment towards the Diploma of Multimedia; and
  • Statement of Attainment towards the Advanced Diploma of Multimedia.
