The Australian Army Psychology Corps contributes to enhancing and maintaining the personnel component of ADF operational and support capabilities by delivering effective and appropriate specialist psychology advice and practice to strengthen the ADF, both on operations and in non-operational environments, and at all levels of the organisation. It achieves this through selection, training and ongoing management of ADF personnel; mental health; psychology research; and effectively managing the delivery of psychology services to the ADF. Examiner Psychological

The Corps' primary roles are: psychological assessment for personnel selection, classification and placement; psychological briefing for operations; mental health maintenance and post operational screening; stress management; individual counselling; operational and personnel research; performance effectiveness and training support; and human aspects of equipment design and operation. |

Duties
Educational Requirement Completion of Year 12 education with passes in English, Mathematics and two other State Education Board approved academic subjects. A 'pass' (or Sound Achievement) is defined as a result that places a candidate in the top 70 percent of students that complete the subject. |
Employment Training Basic initial employment training in Examiners Psych is at the Army Logistic Training Centre, Bandiana, followed by more advanced training at each trade level. Employment Location Defence Psychology units and sections employing Examiners Psych are located in Townsville, Brisbane, Oakey, Sydney, Canberra, Kapooka, Bandiana, Melbourne, AdelaidePuckapunyal, Perth, Hobart and Darwin. There are additional locations for part-time Examiner Psych positions within Australia. Pay On qualification as an Examiner Psych the trade is classified as a Pay Group 5 occupation. |
