The Defence Home Ownership Assistance Scheme

On 08 May 2007, the Treasurer announced the introduction of the Defence Home Ownership Assistance Scheme (DHOAS) in the 2007-08 Budget.

To support the retention of ADF members, the DHOAS will provide different levels of subsidy assistance to members on the completion of 4 years, 8 years and 12 years service. The following table provides details of the subsidy assistance values.

The DHOAS will become operational on 01 July 2008 and for more information on the new DHOAS refer to the Defence Housing Australia (DHA) website http://www.dha.gov.au
