What’s Happening at SCMA this Quarter

It is that time of year when a majority of posting orders have been released for many soldiers. These orders are being followed by Career Manager visits, the schedule of visits by SCMA Career Managers is below. I ask you to ensure that all your soldiers have access to them.

My highest priority remains 'the retention of soldiers in order to grow Army'.

To achieve this I need your help to ensure that career management is a '3-way partnership' between SCMA, the chain of command and the individual. This is vital as there are considerable challenges ahead for Army to retain and grow capability whilst competing with other Australian employees

You will also be aware that the ADF is in progress of making a number of submissions to the DFRT between May and Aug 08. A decision is not expected until late Aug 08. If successful, implementation will be targeted towards Dec 08.

Lastly, it is that time of the year that COs need to start preparation for the annual Performance Appraisal Reports. Remember, a good PAR report must be consistent, relevant and accurate. The PAR is the base document SCMA uses to continue ongoing Career Management and they need to be right.
