ENGINEERS
The
role of our Engineers is to aid in maintaining our battlefield mobility
by building roads, bridges and airstrips, to deny an enemy’s mobility
by demolishing selected buildings and bridges and laying minefields as
well as building various types of barriers to halt or slow the enemy’s
progress.
They are also required to build various types of structures and fortifications
for our use in different areas of operations. The Engineer units in Victoria
train for all these different tasks but specialists with trade skills
are always a welcome addition to their ranks.
Employment and
training is offered in
aspects of field
engineering, heavy
and medium plant
operation, driving,
carpentry, catering, personnel and stores
administration and accounting as well as
felling and processing of timber for use in
our various construction
programs.
