HEADQUARTERS
4th/19th PRINCE OF WALES's
LIGHT HORSE REGIMENT

The Headquarters of the 4th/19th Prince of Wales’s Light Horse Regiment is located at Simpson Barracks, Watsonia.

This unit, which maintains the traditions of the Australian Light Horsemen, is long established with a history to be proud of. The unit’s major equipment are light reconnaissance vehicles which are used to conduct medium range reconnaissance tasks. Training is directed towards the effective use and maintenance of these vehicles. Activities include tactical and live firing exercises normally conducted as weekend training. Training is available in a number of specialist areas including gunnery, communications, armoured vehicle driving and others. As any trooper (the base level soldier employed in the Armoured Corps) will tell you, just being around and working with armoured fighting vehicles is both challenging and stimulating.

This unit has a band and is keen to hear from musicians.
