Programme Information
Camkids Playgroup
Costs: $1 per family per session - PLUS $28 per year per family membership for Playgroups QLD
Who: Open to all Defence Families with children aged up to 5 years.
When: This progam operates throughout the year except on public holdiays.
Stitchin' Hens Craft
Who: Everyone interested in either starting or finishing off a craft project who wants the friendship of craft in group.
When: This program does not operate during public holidays, reduced tempo periods or school holidays.
Craft lessons
Costs: Dependent on the craft and its materials. Costs are kept to a minimum.
Who: Everyone
What: Each month learn a new craft under the guidance of experienced practitioners.

June and July: Creative Memories with Abigail
Have you ever tried scrapbooking? This is a great opportunity to both try it at no cost to you, and, help GECKOS prepare our scrap book for the open day on 20 JULY. Abigail will teach you the techniques and then you apply them on buildng up the GECKOS scrap book. Simple and fun, this allows you to try out before working on your own photos.
If you are an experienced "scrap booker" you are welcome to come and help GECKOS build our own album of those activities that have occurred here over the last 12 months.

Justice of the Peace
Who: Everyone who needs a document signed or witnessed by a JP (Qualified)
When: This program operates every Monday (except public holdiays)from 1200 to 1300hrs at GECKOS.

Wakeup Walk
Who: Anyone who wants to walk in the mornings at the foot of Mt Stuart.
Pram and disability friendly walks available. Cameras welcome.
When: Every Tuesday, leaving GECKOS carpark by 0715hr each walk takes approx 40mins.

Water Worx
Where: Lavarack Bks Area Pool
Who Anyone who wants to do a water exercise program based on water aerobics principles.
WhyLet the water support you while you move and stretch at your own pace. All levels of fitness catered for.
When: Water Worx is conducted between mid-October and end of March each year dependent upon water temperature. The porgramme is conducted on tuesday in the awater from 1245 to 1315hrs. you can come early or stay afterward for a swim, BBQ or share family fun in the pool.
Please note: There is no child care provided but children are welcome under your care and control.

Who: Expecting your first babe? Had your first child in recent weeks or months?
What: Guest presenters on topics relevant to managing yourself and your new child especially in a Defence environment.
When: The five week programme is conducted twice each year. Please ring for more details.

Weekly cleanup & afternoon tea
When: Any afternoon at any time.
What: Whenever you are free to come in and help us with the houskeeping tasks that have to be done to keep GECKOS looking fresh and being a safe place for everyone who comes here.
Who: Whoever can give an hour here or there as a volunteer helper at GECKOS

Domestic Goddess
This is a weekly program of events to support Defence partners as Domestic Goddesses, capable of almost anything while the military member is on course, exercise, deployment or overnight duty.
Program is conducted from *1030 to 1130hrs* each Wednesday of school terms commencing 13FEB08 until 19NOV08.

Justice of the peace
Do you need documentation signed by a Justice of the Peace? We have an offical signing centre at GECKOS every Monday from 1200 to 1300hrs. This is a free service to all Defence members and their families.
If you miss these sessions signing centres also operate in various shopping centres around town on specific times and days each week.
