Introduction

GECKOS is operated as a part of the NQ Amenities Fund which is administered by HQ 3 Bde. The Townsville RSL has proudly stepped forward to be the Incorporated sponsor of GECKOS, so all donations can be made through them. The Steering Group for GECKOS meets regularly led by the Brigade Commander and a comprising representatives from the RSL, DCO, DFA, DSG, NQAF and Frontline. The Unit Welfare Officers and coordinating chaplain are observers to these quarterly meetings. Additionally more regular meetings held with others who are able to offer support and advice on specific issues. The Family Centre Coordinator is secretary to these meetings.

Good will has been extended to GECKOs from the many supporters to the centre. Supporters were acknowledged at the launch of GECKOS on Sunday 20JUL08. These have been:
