Cam Kids Playgroup

When: Monday, Thursday and Friday 0930 to 1130hrs
Where: GECKOS, Lavarack Barracks
Who: Defence families/ guardians with children aged under 5 years

GECKOS has corporate membership of Queensland Playgroups Association. Everyone who comes to playgroup is required to pay $1 per family per session and this money goes toward that membership and ongoing purchase of consumables and playgroup resources. There is also a Memberhsip Form that must be completed for each family.If you've any questions about this or any aspect of Playgroup, please talk with GECKOS staff who will be able to assist you.

PLAYGROUP ASSOCIATION OF QUEENSLAND ANNUAL EXCELLENCE AWARD NOMINEE

Ms Maria Grigg, Playgroup Development Officer, Playgroup Queensland has wirtten to advise me that she has nominated CamKids for one of the Playgroup Queensland Excellence Awards. In part her letter states:

"...As the Playgroup Development Officer for North Queensland I have visited many playgroups in Townsville and surrounds. Rarely have I seen one to meet the standards of care you provide not only to all the people involved but also to the facilities and the equipment. Your regular washing of toys and checking in case of damage and subsequent danger to children was the best I have encounted."

Welcome to CamKids Playgroup.

Welcome to CamKids Playgroup. Here at CamKids we strive to create a comfortable, fun and supportive playgroup for the whole family. Camkids is a smoke free zone.

This information will help introduce you to exactly how CamKids Playgroup works so that you can make the most of your experiences with us.

REGISTRATION
GECKOS has corporate membership that covers CamKids Playgroup with Queensland Playgroups Association.

FEES
There is a fee of $1 per family that is to be paid at each session. This contributes towards annual registration fee, special events, consumables and resources.

SIGNING IN
Upon arrival to GECKOS it is vital that you sign the attendance record at the front door. This is mandatory.

There is a Membership Form that needs to be completed when you first come along to Playgroup. Make sure you get one from the GECKOS staff and fill it out when you come along.

IMMUNISATIONS
It is important that all children are up to date with all their immunisations. If your child is not fully immunised please see your contact person.

MORNING TEA
Pleaae bring a piece of fruit per child to share for morning tea. There are allocated eating areas within GECKOS which will be shown to you.

ALLERGIES
If your child has any allergies please let the coordinator or your contact person know ASAP so that we can provide an allergy free zone for your child.

BEHAVIOUR and SUPERVISION
All parents are to be responsible for the behaviour and supervision of their child/ren while in GECKOS. Although responsible for the conduct of your own children we are still a support network of parents and require that all children are watched over with in the centre.

TIDYING UP and CLEANING
It is a requirement of CamKids Playgroup to assist in the cleaning and tidying of both the toys and GECKOS at the end of each session. This only takes 5 minutes when everyone pitches in.

PHOTOGRAPHY
Sometimes we like to take photos of the children during their time at GECKOS. If you wish your child not to be photographed then please see the GECKOS staff.

IDEAS and SUGGESTIONS
We are always keen to hear from our parents in regards to any ideas or suggestions that they may have for craft or playgroup in general. Feel free to approach your group's contact person with these ideas.

These guidelines are in place to ensure that everybody gets the most out of this playgroup. If you have any queries please feel free to speak with the coordinator or contact person.
