Work continues on the painstaking task of cataloguing and collating all the archaeological finds and anthropological data. The Oxford Archaeology team are still hard at work in preparation for the Joint Identification Board in March 2010.

LGC Forensics are well into the DNA analysis phase of the project. Kits have started to be sent out to families in Australia and the United Kingdom as well as New Zealand and the United States. The soldiers of Pheasant Wood have links to people across the globe with registered relatives in The Netherlands, Malaysia, the Isle of Man and the Cayman Islands.

Cemetery Nov09The Fromelles (Pheasant Wood) Military Cemetery is taking shape due to the expert work of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. In preparation for the reinterments commencing in early 2010, individual graves are being constructed. Each of the 250 soldiers will be given an individual military burial by serving soldiers of both the Austalian and British Armies.
