General
This is a Tri-Service course conducted at DPTC over an intensive period of 55 working days. This is also a 'Visiting Lecturer' intensive course from all types of investigative agencies both civil and military. Trainees will be expected to have a general knowledge in investigative policies and procedures and will be required to have met the prerequisites prior to being panelled for this course.

RANK: CPL (E) - CAPT (E)
PES: Medical Class 2
COURSES: "SPBC and MPIC(SPIC)" OR ROBC
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 24 months Service Police member
Pre-course
It is strongly recommended that members, who have met the prerequisites and have applied to become an investigator, have a workplace agreement with their ship/unit/base to be attached to an ADF investigative unit for a period of three months. During this attachment, the Senior Investigator will access the member's investigative ability. This will adequately prepare any member for the Australian Defence Force Investigator Course (ADFIC). In addition, the following pre-course activity link should be downloaded by the selected trainee as part of their pre-course study.

RAN: Nil
ARMY: Length of course plus one year
RAAF: Nil
All:SCMA are applying the 'voluntary trade transfer' provisions of DI(G) PERS 33-2 Annex B to the ADFIC. By the letter of the DI(G) this would incur at four year ROSO, however, SCMA are only using the "High Value" training provisions and the Army ROSO is length of course plus one year. The ROSO is being applied from the current course. A revised Army Annex will be issued shortly mandating length of course plus one year for ALL trade transfers.
Administration requirements
Please ensure you download the ADFIC Joining Instruction (JI), Defence Police Training Centre - Trainee Information Handbook and Shared Responsibility Agreement (SRA) for the upcoming course.
NB. The SRA is to be passed to your CO/OC for completion, prior to forwarding to the Course Manager (ADFIC).
