Organisation

Command Element
Located in Meares House itself, functions include command, administration and the issue of stores and equipment.

Headquarters AABC
Located in Meares House, is responsible for the command, administration and logistic support of the AABC.

Training Wing
Located in main school building, the Training Wing is responsible for the conduct of all training and comprises of the Military Band Section and The Pipes and Drums Section.

Development Wing
Development Wing consists of Training Development (TD) and Trade Management (TM)

The role of TD is to analyse, design and develop training conducted at DFSM in accordance with Training Command-Army (TC-A) policies, HQTC-A and National standards.

The role of TM is to provide advice relating to trade models, career progression, training implications and remuneration. TM's responsibility is to ensure the balanced development and management of employment categories and their associated training.

Doctrine
The purpose of doctrine wing is to facilitate the development of doctrine for the Australian Army Band Corps.

The Senior Outposted Doctrine Development Officer (SODDO) is posted to Land Warfare Development Centre, Puckapunyal and located at the DFSM. They are tasked by SO1 (Doctrine Wing) LWDC but work closely with DMUS-A in meeting Corps needs.

Australian Army Band Melbourne
Since January 1998 AAB-M have been co-located with DFSM. In addition to their Military and Ceremonial commitments they are also tasked with assisting in training.
