ASSG Tasks

The ASSG provides a pool of part-time Army Officers and Senior Non-Commissioned Officers to undertake sponsored projects and activities for Army, Joint and Defence Organisations across all of Australia.

Project Officers are available in each state and territory and as a unit with a national distribution can help organisations link their tasks to the right personnel.

Unit members have qualifications and experience in the following areas:

  • Public Policy Development
  • Engineering;
  • Integrated Logistics;
  • Project Management;
  • Law;
  • Business and Finance;
  • Accountancy;
  • Security and Safety; and
  • Environment and Heritage Policy and Management.

Requesting a Task. Tasks and projects of any kind or duration should be recorded on the Task Request Form and forwarded to ASSG Admin. Employment of ASSG officers is on a 'user pays' basis which requires sponsors to ensure the required ARTS and T&S are available before project officers undertake the task. DASSG can approve projects for up to 100 days.


Task Request Form. The Task Request Form has been designed to ensue that sufficient details are included with regard to the nature of the task. The full completion of this form allows ASSG personnel to make an informed decision on their capability to successfully undertake the task.

Changes to Tasks. It is very important that changes to tasks are advised as soon as possible. This includes advising if the task is no longer required or if it has been filled.
