HELP THEM PREPAREBefore commencing training at ARTC recruits need to be medically and physically fit. A psychologist and a doctor will assess them at a recruiting centre. If they are in doubt about anything that might affect their training, they should discuss this concern with the enlistment officer, doctor or psychologist. Failure to disclose an existing injury or medical condition will result in their removal from training and discharge from the Australian Army.
Prior to arrival at Kapooka recruits will also need to organise their personal administration, such as ensuring finances and business dealings are in order, and resolving any family or other personal concerns. Once training commences at Kapooka, they will have limited time to organise home life.
