The fourth edition of ASODs Volume 1 and Volume 2 have been released electronically. Personnel are to comply with ASODs with effect immediately; however, personnel can continue to wear their old Army nameplate until procurement of the new Army nameplate has commenced . Personnel with 10 or more medals may continue to wear them court-mounted at 16cm until contractors have been informed of the changes to ASODs. POC is RSM Ceremonial - Army on 02 6265 4091.

On 7 November 2008 the Defence Force Remuneration Tribunal (DFRT) approved a new remuneration structure of 10 pay grades for Warrant Officers and other ranks. The structure will provide new significant reward for promotion and upskilling in targeted areas.

The decision was backdated to 4 September 2008 with implementation in mid 2009. Implementation procedures are not yet finalised and members will be notified by message when dates have been confirmed.

This advice replaces earlier advice which stated that a Reserve member could only apply for a DHOAS subsidy certificate after completing effective service of twenty (20)days reserve days in 2008-09. Reserve members who at1 July 2008 have completed eight (8) years qualifing service, provided effective service in 2007-08 and have a service credit may apply for a DHOAS subsidy certificate and be paid subsidy, on condition that they will provide effective service in 2008-09. If member does not provide effective service in 2008-09, they will need to repay any subsidy received.

The Defence Home Ownership Assistance Scheme (DVA www Site) is a new home loan subsidy scheme for eligible ADF members and is administered by the Department Of Veteran Affairs. The scheme will be launched on the 1st of July 2008.
