Sydney General
- Assessors are reminded that not meeting the timings detailed below may disadvantage their subordinates, particularly when going to PAC.
- The electronic copy of a PAR will not be presented to PAC where a signed hardcopy has not been received by APA-S.
- A hardcopy PAR received without an electronic copy will be returned to unit.
- Assessors are to ensure that PARs are fully completed before being forwarded to APA-S. Particular attention is to be taken in the following areas:
- PMKeyS EmplID is to be used in place of service numbers for Assessed Member, Assessor and Senior Assessor.
- Period start date, end date and duty type are to be entered on page one.
- The minimum reporting period is fourteen (14) days. For periods less than fourteen days a supplementary report should be raised. The maximum reporting period is 12 months.
- The Assessor has signed part 2E.
- The Senior Assessor has signed part 3B.
- The Assessed Member has signed the report at part 2F, 3C and 3F.

Note:
- Preliminary review of performances, supplementary reports, representations, and any other documents raised in connection with performance appraisal are to be forwarded to DGCMP at the end of the appraisal period for archiving. These documents are unit level tools, and are designed to support the writing of performance appraisal reports.

Notes:
- Reports for LTs in their first year after commissioning are to be raised as at 15 November and submitted by 15 December.
- Reports for ARES officers from the ranks of 2LT to MAJ are to be forwarded to Army Personnel Agency - Sydney
- Reports for ARES officers of the rank of LTCOL are to be forwarded to DOCM-A
Exemption
Unless specifically requested by the Career Management Agency, performance appraisal reports are not required for those personnel who are currently undergoing long-term formal schooling or training, whether at civil or military institutions (including Command and Staff Courses).
