Unit Brief

'A' Field Battery is a parachute field artillery battery located at Holsworthy in Sydney, New South Wales. It comprises six guns, a headquarters element, technical support, transport, combat service support, catering and administrative elements. 'A' Field Battery directly supports the 3rd Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment and forms an integral part of the Airborne Battle Group.

'A' Field Battery is one of three gun batteries of 4th Field Regiment, the other two (107th Field Battery and 108th Field Battery) are located at Lavarack Barracks in Townsville. As the oldest unit in not just the Regiment, but the entire Australian Regular Army, 'A' Field Battery is the senior battery in the country.
