Operator Movement

The Operator Movements (OP MOV) is an Australian Regular Army (ARA) or Army Reserve (ARes) RACT soldier, who plans, coordinates, executes, controls and monitors the operational and strategic movement of personnel and equipment of the ADF. The trade comprises a number of disciplines and an Operator Movement may be employed in any of these areas. They are as follows:

  • Operational Movement - performed at all ranks within Movement Units.
  • Administrative Movement - performed at PTE to WO2 rank in support of infantry battalions, training establishments and other major units.

Duties


  • Prepare the movement of individuals, formed bodies of troops and equipment.
  • Prepare documentation relevant to the movement of military cargo and personnel.
  • Monitor the movement of military cargo and personnel.
  • Advise Australian Defence Force (ADF) organisations on customs documentation.
  • Maintain liaison with civil transport agencies and arrange civil transport bookings.
  • Liaison with Navy and Air force.
  • Maintain office filing systems and registers.

Employment Training


Operator Movement Course: 25 Days. The Operator Movement Course is conducted at Army Logistic Training Centre Maritime Wing at Ross Island, Townsville QLD.

The pay levels for this employment are:


  • OP MOV PTE-LCPL Pay Group 3.
  • ADV OP MOV PTE-CPL Pay Group 3.
  • SPV OP MOV CPL-SGT Pay Group 3.
  • ASST MNGR OP MOV SGT Pay Group 4.
  • MNGR OP MOV ECN WO2 Pay Group 4.
  • MNGR OP MOV ECN WO1 Pay Group 2.

Civil Accreditation


This category's courses meet the requirements for both civilian and military authorities and will make you eligible for:

  • Statement of Attainment towards the Certificate IV in Transport and Distribution (Administration) is granted to personnel on being assessed as competent as an ARA PTE-CPL .
  • Certificate II in Transport and Distribution (Warehousing and Storage) on being assessed as competent as an ARA PTE.
  • Certificate III in Transport and Distribution (Administration) is granted to personnel on being assessed as competent as an ARA CPL .
  • Certificate IV in Transport and Distribution (Administration ) is granted to personnel on being assessed as competent as an ARA SGT-WO2 .
  • Diploma of Logistics Management is granted to personnel on being assessed as competent as an ARA WO2-WO1 .
