Career Management Group Mission
CM Gp is to actively manage the careers of ARA soldiers; selectively developing and posting personnel in order to enhance Army's personnel capability.
What Career Managers Do
- Career Managers manage individuals on a corps, rank and trade basis.
- Career Managers balance career development needs, personal goals, circumstances and desires to ensure that the soldier is the right person, in the right place and at the right time to meet service needs.
- Career Managers select soldiers for formal career and specialist courses and post soldiers into appointments which will develop them professionally. This ensures sufficient qualified and suitable personnel are available to meet future service needs.
How Career Managers Do What They Do
- By consulting with the soldier. This is supported by consultation with COs, RSMs, commanders and supervisors.
- By developing a detailed knowledge of the soldiers performance history and circumstances using PMKeys, the CM Database and PIMS.
- By making themselves aware of ADF, ARMY, Corps and trade issues that have impact on personnel capability and by resolving those issues when necessary.
