The
JobAs a Logistics Operator you are responsible for the essential logistic operation of an army unit. You control the issue and receipt of stores and equipment including artillery guns, vehicles, weapons, clothing, radios and computers.
You will perform these duties as part of a small team, in diverse situations ranging from a large warehouse to operating out of the back of a truck in the field.
A Logistics Operator also gets involved with the supply and handling of dangerous goods such as artillery ammunition and explosives.
Rest assured you wont miss out on all the other activities in the unit. You will learn to shoot the F88 Austeyr, train as a rifleman and participate in live firing activities and participate in adventurous training such as abseiling.
The
TrainingAFer you have completed your Common Recruit Training (CRT) at Kapooka in NSW, you will be ready to start your Initial Employment Training (or IET as we call it). We will teach you everything you need to be a skilled Logistics Operator.
The Operator Supply Course is a two-week course. The training is conducted in Albury-Woodonga on the New South Wales-Victorian border, at the Army Logistics Training Centre All your travel, accommodation and meals are free. Plus you get TAX FREE pay while you are gaining your new skill.
The
SkillsAs a Logistics Operator you will gain and develop a wide range of personal skills and experience that will be invaluable to any career that you choose. You will be trained in the technical duties relating to supply of goods and services. You will also gain skills in the handling and storage of dangerous goods. All these skills have accredited civilian recognition.
You will also learn skills in personnel management, communications and leadership, while enhancing your personal organisation and ability to problem solve.
